Privacy Policy

Clear, plain-language commitments on how we handle your account details, writing samples, and saved work.

01

Overview & Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how ProseRelay ("ProseRelay", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you visit our website, sign in to the studio, or use our multi-stage writing and research services.

We design our systems around data minimization: we only collect the information required to authenticate your account, preserve your saved content library, and calibrate drafts to your chosen writing style.

02

Information We Collect

When you use ProseRelay, we collect information in three categories:

  • Account Identity (via Google OAuth): Your name, email address, and profile avatar provided by Google when you sign in.
  • Studio Content & Voice DNA Samples: Topics you enter, writing samples or public links you submit to train your personal Voice DNA profile, and finished content packages saved to your library.
  • Technical & Session Logs: Basic request metadata (such as browser type, timestamps, and authentication cookies) necessary to maintain secure sessions and prevent abuse.
03

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used strictly to operate and improve the ProseRelay studio experience:

  • Turning the notes or topic you submit into a draft, researching the live web when you ask for a topic, and editorial review at your request.
  • Learning from your edits: when you change a draft before approving it, or edit a saved post, we store the draft ProseRelay wrote next to your final version, and a short list of style rules derived from them, so later drafts are closer to how you write.
  • Generating and storing vector embeddings of your submitted writing samples so generated drafts match your personal tone.
  • Persisting your completed content packages in your private Saved Library so you can revisit or export them at any time. For posts written from your notes we keep the story details extracted from them, not the original notes you pasted.
  • Maintaining account security, session continuity, and service reliability.
04

Sub-Processors & External Services

To run the multi-stage writing pipeline, ProseRelay interacts with trusted infrastructure providers under strict API data-protection terms:

  • Supabase: Provides PostgreSQL database hosting, vector storage (pgvector), and Google OAuth session management.
  • OpenAI API: Processes the notes and topics you submit, stage instructions, your writing samples, the drafts used to learn your editing style, and voice embeddings. API payloads are not used by OpenAI to train foundation models.
  • Tavily Search API: Receives search queries derived from your topic to retrieve live web facts and primary source URLs.
05

Data Retention & Your Controls

You retain full control over your studio artifacts and voice profile at all times.

You can delete individual saved content packages directly from your Saved Library, and you can update or permanently delete your Voice DNA writing profile from the studio header with a single click. When deleted, the corresponding records and vector embeddings are permanently removed from our database.

You can reset what ProseRelay learned from your edits from the Voice DNA screen, which permanently deletes the stored draft pairs and the learned style rules. Deleting a saved post also deletes the stored copy of its text that was kept for learning.

06

Data Security

All communication between your browser, our servers, and our sub-processors is encrypted in transit using TLS. Database records are protected by row-level security policies ensuring that only your authenticated account can access your saved packages and voice profile.
